JESSE J. SANCHEZ is a Latinx playwright, composer, and music director. He is a sought-after collaborator in theatre, opera, TV, and film. As a playwright, his works have been performed or developed at Boston Lyric Opera, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, New York Theatre Barn, Arizona Theatre Company, 24 Hour Plays, Green Room 42, Arizona State University, and New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. His works have been a semi-finalist for the O'Neill National Music Theater Conference (2019, 2020), National Alliance for Musical Theatre (2020), and Bay Area Playwrights Festival (2019). As a composer, orchestrator, arranger, and vocal arranger, his works have been performed across the U.S, including the The 24 Hour Plays, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Arizona Theatre Company, Huntington Theatre Company, Hartford Stage, Alley Theatre, FOGG Theatre of San Francisco, University of Texas at Austin, Arizona State University, West Valley College, Cuesta College Jazz Festival, and the Idaho Music Educator’s Conference. Jesse is currently in residence as Producing Music Supervisor for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, a Tony Award-winning organization that stands as one of the preeminent destinations for American regional theatre. Jesse is a proud member of the Dramatists Guild of America and National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures.
