Whitney Reed

Whitney Mignon Reed is a Creative Director who uses performance and production as a tool to curate cultural experiences through theatre, cinematography and the ritual of storytelling. Born and raised in Sarasota, Florida- theatre became a major part of their life as a tool  to learn cultural history through rich stories told on stage. A graduate of Florida A&M University, the largest Historically Black College and University, Whitney gained a deeper understanding of using education and art to dismantle systems of oppression through storytelling as a Public Relations and Theatre performance student. In post matriculation they honed their skills in marketing, stage performance and equity, diversity and inclusion through professional development working in varied industries. From education to tech startups and currently Regional Theatre working as a "Talk Back" facilitator, freelance photographer in addition to Assistant Director and Choreographer- the collective skills gave Whitney the edge to becoming the Creative Manager of Patron Cultivation at Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Whitney Mignon Reed is a proud member of In the Margin Theatre Company. ITM is a coalition of creative artivists who are sure to engage new audiences while re-establishing and reimagining the connection between storytelling, community support and public policy.
